Inspired by traditional stools found in old Lebanese homes, the chair weaving craft is only still found in the Saida south of Lebanon. The pieces reinterpret this craft through a contemporary, tactile approach where the installation extends into a lived experience, inviting the viewer to sit, pause, and be immersed in a space of care. Constructed from tulle fabric tubes ranging from 3 to 6 meters, each filled with colorful fabric scraps and pockets of soap infused with rose scent, they carry both softness and presence. Their woven forms expand into the space, offering a place to sit, slow down, and simply feel at ease.
Designed and handmade by Creative Space Beirut alumni and student: Jihan Azzam, Mostafa Al Sous, Patile Tachjian, Wadih Hadchity
