Rat d’Hôtel is a collaborative design house based in Beirut, creating limited-edition furniture, artisan-crafted jewelry, sound pieces, and immersive experiences through partnerships with artists, musicians, and master artisans from Lebanon and beyond. We live between the poetic and the rebellious: nothing here is mass-produced, everything is a story told through materials and form.

Where does the name come from?

The “Rat d’Hôtel” was a mysterious, rebellious figure of the 19th century. An uninvited guest who navigated salons, cafés, and hotels with wit and mischief. We chose it to reflect our brand’s ethos of curiosity, audacity, and creative trespassing in design, music, and art.

Are your pieces handmade?

Yes. Every Rat d’Hôtel object is handmade in Lebanon using repurposed or locally sourced materials. Each irregularity is the mark of a true handcrafted design object, not a flaw.

Are the editions really limited?

Absolutely. Each Rat d’Hôtel piece, whether furniture, jewelry, or physical music release, is a finite edition. Once it’s gone, it’s gone; we don’t restock, we reinvent.

Do you take custom orders?

Occasionally, if the request fits the Rat d’Hôtel design language. Contact us with your idea and we’ll explore possibilities.

Rat d’Hôtel ships worldwide from Beirut, Lebanon, to cities including Dubai, Berlin, Paris, New York, and beyond. Shipping rates and delivery times vary by destination.

How long will my order take?

Most orders ship within 3–5 business days. Limited-edition and made-to-order furniture or jewelry may take longer. Patience is part of the ritual!

How can I track my order?

Once your Rat d’Hôtel piece leaves our Beirut studio, you’ll receive a tracking number by email to follow its journey.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards, PayPal, and other secure payment options depending on your location.

What currency are your prices in?

Prices are listed in USD, but checkout will automatically display and convert to your local currency.

How should I care for my jewelry?

Keep your Rat d’Hôtel jewelry away from moisture, perfumes, and direct sunlight. Clean gently with a soft cloth. Silver pieces may naturally oxidise over time and while we embrace the patina, you can polish them bright again if you wish.

Do you use sustainable materials?

Sustainability is instinctive for us. We favour recycled metals, repurposed materials, and locally sourced woods or textiles in our handmade Beirut designs.

Do you accept returns?

Because our editions are limited, all sales are final unless your item arrives damaged in transit.

What if my piece arrives damaged?

Contact us within 3 days of delivery with photos, and we’ll arrange repair, replacement, or refund.
