Flowers in Beirut
On arrival here, one of the first thing that caught my senses strongly was the smell of jasmine.
The light of the sun was gone, the streets were dark, with some spots of electrical light there and there.
Trying to find our new flat, we walked around the block, empty of its people.
A quiet parking, some high buildings with their calm gardians, a nice heat, some pollution, but also and mostly, the smell of jasmine.
The garden of a tall building was covered with these white flowers that challenged the darkness.
It was the smell of Beirut, and how to forget that smell ?
